  About the Institute
Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) is a leading multi-speciality hospital and teaching institute in the Union Territory of Puducherry on the eastern coast of South India established in 2001. The vision of PIMS is to serve the community through holistic health services and an excellent system of education where we follow the defining principles of ethics, excellence, care and research, in line with our motto “To Reach The Unreached”

The medical college has state-of-the-art facilities and experienced faculty who have been drawn from all over India. PIMS offers its students a stimulating atmosphere to pursue their dreams. At present, the institution offers undergraduate, postgraduate and super speciality programmes in several disciplines with emphasis on excellence in education, healthcare and research. The institute emphasises on high quality research by its faculty and students. The institute is part of many multi-centric studies and funded projects. It regularly holds national conferences, workshops and trainings in health care and research. It is also a part of several national disease control programmes.

About the Institute

The Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences is the outcome of the vision of the Madras Medical Mission to create a medical school offering innovative medical education with international participation. The aim is to produce health professionals with a commitment not only to provide high quality medical care but also do research to prevent and alleviate disease processes.

About the Journal         

Journal of Current Research in Scientific Medicine (JCRSM) is the official scientific publication of PIMS. Since its inception in 2015, it serves as a platform to disseminate new knowledge, advance medical research, and promote evidence-based practice.

It is a peer-reviewed print + online semi-annual (two issues per year) journal. The journal’s full text is available online at http://www.jcrsmed.org. The journal allows immediate free access (Open Access) to its contents and permits authors to self-archive the final accepted version of the articles on any OAI-compliant institutional / subject-based repository.

Open Access Publication and Creative Commons Licensing

This is an open access journal, and articles are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 License, which allows others to remix, tweak, and build upon the work non-commercially, as long as appropriate credit is given and the new creations are licensed under the identical terms.

The journal allows immediate free access to the work and permits any user to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose.

 

Digital Archiving

Wolters Kluwer Medknow provides for long-term digital preservation through two primary partnerships, Portico and CLOCKSS.

Portico is a leading digital preservation service worldwide. The content is preserved as an archival version and is not publically accessible via Portico, but is provided when required under specific conditions, such as discontinuation of the collection or catastrophic failure of the website.

CLOCKSS will enable any library to maintain their own archive of content from Wolters Kluwer Medknow and other publishers, with minimal technical effort and using cheaply available hardware.

 

Ahead of Print policy

Articles published online under the Ahead of Print model are considered published and can be cited and quoted using the DOI as the reference source. Wolters Kluwer Medknow has a policy that changes will not be made after publication of an article without following accepted procedures for making corrections to the scientific record.

 

Advertisements

While advertisements are crucial to this journal to be able to keep all content free for everyone, ethical considerations are in place to ensure the integrity of the journal and its content:

"Pop-up" and "banner" ads appear on a random, rotating basis.

The advertiser has no control or input over the pages where their ads appear.

The Editorial Board has full and final approval over the content of all advertisements.

Advertisers will never be shown any manuscripts or other content prior to publication.

JCRSM publishes methodologically-sound and ethically-conducted research articles, reviews, and case studies related to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of medical conditions and diseases. It covers a broad range of medical specialties, including but not limited to basic sciences, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, general medicine, general surgery, obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, dermatology and psychiatry. It also covers topics related to public health, medical education, medical ethics, and health policy. JCRSM serves as a platform for researchers, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals to share their findings and insights with the broader medical community.
