Publishing a scientific journal of repute has been a dream for many years, and I am delighted to know that Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences is soon turning that dream into reality. PIMS in a short span of 13 years has established itself as a center of repute in southern India and it was a proud moment when last year a leading publishing house ranked us as the 4th best emerging medical institutions of the country. Our strength is the faculty drawn from across India, many of them from the very best institutions of the country.
Our vision is to disseminate knowledge through education, research and sound ethical practice, by our faculty and alumni. Publishing high-quality peer reviewed articles would go a long way in the dissemination of information. I am sure the journal will be able to attract articles from medical fraternity across the country and fulfill our mission.
We are greatly indebted to Dr. Reba Kanungo and her editorial team for their dedication and hard work. I am honored and privileged to present to you the first issue of "Journal of Current Research in Scientific Medicine."
